A trip to Bordeaux to study the marketing of the city

Bordeaux is the destination chosen by Luxury Hotelschool to take its Master students on a field trip. The theme of this “Field Trip”? The marketing plan of the city. To understand the hotel industry, it is indeed interesting to study its environment and in particular the development and promotion of cities. “La belle dormie” is an exemplary city in this area with an ambitious urban project designed in 1996 and perfectly executed since then.
At each stage of their schooling, the students of the Hotel School Luxury Hotelschool leave for a week on a field trip. The school's university program includes these “Field Trip” to study the work of tourism actors in the field, but also to experience luxury in the biggest restaurants, the leading luxury and gastronomy industry houses, and of course the most beautiful hotels. In Bordeaux, students are interested in the marketing plan of major cities and their impact on tourism through visits and conferences conducted by recognized professionals as well as by their teacher, Doctor Duncan Tyler, specialist in the field.
In the world wine capital and its region, the student programme is of great wealth, both academically and in terms of the luxury experience, including: academic courses and City Marketing conferences at the interContinental Bordeaux trade fairs; lunch at L'Hostellerie de Plaisance, hotel restaurant history in Saint-Emilion with two Michelin stars; a visit to Saint-Emilion and the Château Angelus estate; a reception by the management of the Tourist Office and presentation of the marketing issues of the city; a dinner at the “Fourth Wall”, led by Philippe Etchebest; a visit to the Cité du Vin with participation in a workshop polysensory; a visit to the Château les Carmes Haut-Brion in Pessac...
