As soon as I entered the Luxury Hotelschool campus, located at 69 boulevard Haussmann in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, I was immediately won over by the environment in which students live.

The layout and beauty of the premises, the reception worthy of a 5-star hotel, the common space promoting conviviality and, of course, the constant search for high-level teaching and learning... well justify the distinction awarded by its students: first hotel school in France in the Happy @School 2022 ranking.

Happy during their university career, the students of the Luxury Hotelschool will, in turn, be able to create and share this feeling of “well-being at work”, essential to the stability of a team as to the results of a company. CSR is one of the top priorities of the Luxury Hotelschool which insists and emphasizes in its courses on this essential factor: happy teams make happy customers, who in turn make happy owners.

“Happiness is our business” is the subject of my intervention at school, a vision that has remained, since 1974, my line of conduct: to be happy to serve the other is to help the other to achieve “his happiness”! A conviction well anchored since my years at the Club Méditerranée (1974-1997) whose credo “the most beautiful idea since the invention of happiness” still resonates in our minds. I was then able to evolve and assert myself in the world of luxury hotels at Shangri-La (1997-2017) thanks to this primary motivation, inherent to any leader: to create and lead FULFILLED and HAPPY teams!

Today, what a pleasure to be in front of the Master classes at the Luxury Hotelschool to share my experience and also to coach students impatient to be entrusted with the responsibilities of team leader, a quality that is still too rare today and yet essential to the future of our beautiful industry!
